Career Compatibility Compass
Before you quit your job or choose a new career, understand what's actually going on.
If work has started to feel heavier than it used to, you may be asking yourself:
Is this burnout?
Is it my job or the workplace?
Did I choose the wrong career?
Or am I simply too exhausted to know what I actually want anymore?
Before you make a major career decision, you need better information, not more pressure to figure it all out. You need to understand what you're actually trying to solve.
Career Compatibility Compass gives you a structured way to understand what's really going on, explore what could fit better, and decide what to do next, without committing your entire future to one answer.
And you won't be expected to figure it out alone.
You'll have the Strong Interest Inventory®, two private 1:1 sessions with Dr. Marlinda, the 4-step Career Compatibility Course, and ongoing support as you work through the process.
You do not need to choose your forever career today.
You need to understand what isn't working, what might fit better, and your best next step.
Get Started - $997Maybe you've been trying to solve the wrong problem.
You wake up on Monday already tired.
You count down to Friday.
A meeting that shouldn't be a big deal leaves you completely depleted.
You come home with nothing left for the people you love.
And then, somewhere between answering one more email and staring blankly at another job posting, the thought appears:
“I can't keep doing this.”
But what comes next isn't clarity.
It's more questions:
"Do I need a new job?"
"Do I need a new career?"
"Do I need time off?"
"Maybe I'm burned out and shouldn't make any major decisions yet."
"Maybe the workplace is the problem."
"Maybe the role is wrong for me."
"Maybe I've changed."
"Maybe the life I'm living now simply doesn't have room for the way I'm working."
And because you can't tell which one it is, every option feels risky.
So you research careers at midnight.
You take another personality quiz.
You save job postings without applying.
You ask friends what they think.
You make a list. Then another list.
And somehow you're still standing in the same place.
What you really need is a clearer way to understand the problem.
Before you make a life-changing decision, slow the decision down.
When you're exhausted, frightened, overwhelmed, or desperate for relief, “I need to quit” can start to feel like the only possible answer.
But wanting the pain to stop and knowing what you should do next are two different things.
Career Compatibility Compass was designed around that distinction.
Instead of asking:
“What career should I choose?”
We start with better questions:
What is work costing me right now?
What is actually creating the strain?
What conditions do I need to function sustainably?
What am I no longer willing to normalize?
What kind of work might fit the life I have today?
And what can I test before making an irreversible decision?
You need clarity to take the next sensible step.
The right career has to fit your life, too.
There may not be one perfect job waiting somewhere for you.
And a career assessment cannot predict your future.
But it can help you gather useful information.
What this process does differently is help you put that information into context.
Your interests matter.
But so do your energy, values, capacity, health, family responsibilities, financial needs, preferred work conditions, experience, and the kind of life you actually want to live.
A career that looks wonderful on paper can still be completely wrong for your real life.
And a career you would have dismissed five years ago may make far more sense now.
That's why career fit has to be considered in the context of your real life, not just your interests or your résumé.
Meet your Career Compatibility Compass
Career Compatibility Compass gives you a structured, guided process for moving from career distress and uncertainty to understanding, exploration, and action.
Designed by Dr. Marlinda, a licensed psychologist with over 12 years of experience, the Compass brings together psychological insight, career-development expertise, the Strong Interest Inventory®, private professional guidance, and a practical process for testing what comes next.
Her work with professionals experiencing burnout, career mismatch, and chronic workplace exhaustion informs the process from beginning to end.
You'll use the Strong Interest Inventory® to gather meaningful information about your interests and work preferences.
Then, with guided support from Dr. Marlinda, you'll put that information into context, alongside your values, capacity, circumstances, and what you actually need from work.
The goal isn't to tell you what career to choose.
It's to help you understand what may be temporary, what may point to a deeper mismatch, and what is worth exploring next.
So you can make a major career decision without feeling like you have to blow up your entire life to make things better.
What happens when you join
Career Compatibility Compass is a complete guided experience.
It brings together assessment, professional interpretation, a structured self-paced framework, private guidance, practical exploration, and ongoing support.
First, you complete your Strong Interest Inventory®.
You'll receive your personalized report, giving you detailed information about your interests, occupational themes, and work-style preferences.
Then, you have your Career Clarity Session.
In your private 60-minute video session with Dr. Marlinda, you'll review your Strong Interest Inventory® results together, ask questions, identify what resonates and what doesn't, and begin connecting your interests and work preferences to your real-life circumstances.
Then you work through the Career Compatibility Course.
The Career Compatibility Course is the self-paced, 4-step framework inside the Compass.
You'll move through:
Calm the Alarm → Map the Signals → Find Your Direction → Test the Path
at your own pace, using practical exercises, reflection tools, scripts, and decision-making frameworks.
Then, you have your Career Direction & Roadmap Session.
After you've worked through the framework and begun exploring possible directions, your second private 60-minute session brings your findings together.
This session helps you turn what you've learned into a direction worth testing.
Then you test the path.
The 30-Day Career Decision Process helps you turn a possible direction into a low-risk next step rather than a giant, irreversible decision.
Community & Asynchronous Support
And throughout the process, you'll have community support and asynchronous access to Dr. Marlinda for program-related questions and guidance.
The Strong Interest Inventory®
The Strong Interest Inventory® is a structured career assessment that has been used for decades to help people understand their interests, work preferences, and occupational themes.
It gives you research-backed career-interest data to work with as you explore what could fit your life.
A career assessment is only as useful as what you do with the information.
You may already have taken career quizzes.
Maybe one told you what personality type you are.
Maybe another gave you a list of careers.
Maybe you read the results, thought “That sounds interesting,” and then wondered:
“Okay...but what am I supposed to actually do with this?”
The Strong Interest Inventory® has a much longer history than the typical online career quiz. Its origins go back to 1927, and the assessment has been continually researched and refined over the decades.
It provides structured information about your interests, preferred activities, occupational themes, and work-style preferences.
But we don't treat the report as a verdict.
It isn't going to tell you:
“You should quit your job.”
Or:
“This is your one true career.”
Instead, it gives you another meaningful piece of information to work with.
Then you have someone to help you make sense of it.
In your Career Clarity Session, Dr. Marlinda will help you interpret your results and put them into context.
Because your interests are only one part of the picture.
Your values, capacity, circumstances, experience, financial needs, preferred work conditions, and the kind of life you want to live matter too.
“She took the time to truly listen, validate what I was experiencing, and thoughtfully walk me through my career assessment results. She also showed me several career paths that align with my strengths and gave me hope that there are other options available. I left our session feeling more confident, cared for, and excited about the possibilities ahead.”
— Jenny Smith, Career Compatibility Compass client
You won't be handed a 20-page report and left alone with it.
This is one of the biggest differences between Career Compatibility Compass and a typical online course you buy, feel excited about for three days, and never finish.
You get actual human help.
Career Clarity Session
Your first private session with Dr. Marlinda is an opportunity to slow down, ask questions, challenge what doesn't seem to fit, and begin connecting the results to your actual circumstances.
Instead of trying to interpret everything alone, you'll have a qualified professional helping you make sense of the information.
Career Direction & Roadmap Session
Your second private session happens after you've had time to work through the Compass framework and explore possible directions.
This is where your Strong Interest Inventory® results, reflections, career possibilities, and real-life constraints come together.
You'll look at what you've learned, pressure-test the possibilities, and identify the direction worth exploring next.
You'll also receive a personalized written action plan outlining the next steps you and Dr. Marlinda identify together.
You aren't buying more information.
You're getting professional support while you figure out what the information means for you, and what to do with it.

Career Compatibility Course
The Career Compatibility Course is Dr. Marlinda's signature 4-step framework.
It gives you a structured process for moving from career distress and uncertainty to understanding, exploration, and grounded action.
This self-paced course is yours to keep for life so you can revisit it whenever doubt creeps in or you need to calm the overwhelm and take grounded action.
Module 1: Calm the Alarm
Before you make a major decision, you need enough space to think.
You'll learn how to recognize when stress is pushing you toward overthinking, avoidance, people-pleasing, shutdown, or panic-driven decisions.
You'll use practical tools to create a little distance between “I cannot do this anymore” and “What should I do next?”
Because sometimes the most important career decision you can make today is:
I don't have to decide today.
Module 2: Map the Signals
Instead of lumping everything together as “I hate my job,” you'll start separating the signals.
Is the problem your workload, capacity, or burnout?
Is it your workplace, the role itself, your professional identity, or your values?
Or some combination?
This matters because different problems require different solutions.
A new career won't fix a toxic manager.
A new employer won't fix a career mismatch.
A vacation won't necessarily fix a role that no longer fits.
And quitting may not be necessary at all.
First, you need to know what you're actually dealing with.
Module 3: Find Your Direction
Once you understand what isn't working, you can start defining what needs to be different.
You'll identify the values, work conditions, forms of contribution, boundaries, and realities that matter to you now.
Not the version of you who chose your current career years ago.
Not the career your family thinks you should have.
Not the impressive job title you think you should want.
You.
The person who has to wake up and live this life every day.
Module 4: Test the Path
You don't need to leap from uncertainty into certainty.
You can test, research, and talk to people.
You can explore roles, try small experiments, and gather evidence.
Then adjust.
The 30-Day Career Decision Process helps you turn a possible direction into a low-risk next step instead of a giant, irreversible decision.
Because clarity often comes from movement, not from sitting still until you somehow feel 100% certain.
You'll begin this experiment after your second session with Dr. Marlinda, so you have a clearer direction, know what you're testing, and can move forward with confidence.
“It was really nice to speak to someone who is not in my industry and who is equipped to encourage me to get past my mental barriers.”
— Ariel McCollough, Career Compatibility Compass client

Meet Dr. Marlinda
Hi, I'm Dr. Marlinda Pruden, a licensed psychologist with 12 years of experience. I specialize in career development, trauma recovery, nervous-system regulation, and emotional wellbeing.
My work uses psychology to inform the real-life decisions people face when work is no longer sustainable.
I've also experienced what it feels like when the work you're doing begins to affect you in ways you can't simply think your way out of.
Before creating the Career Compatibility Compass, I worked in a prison environment where hypervigilance, emotional suppression, and staying constantly alert were part of the job. Over time, I experienced firsthand how a work environment can shape your nervous system, your wellbeing, and your sense of what you can keep doing.
That experience shapes how I work with people who are struggling with career distress today.
I've seen how easily career distress can turn into a story about yourself:
I'm lazy.
I'm too sensitive.
I should be grateful.
I just need more discipline.
Everyone else can handle this.
Maybe I'm the problem.
Sometimes the problem isn't that you aren't trying hard enough.
Sometimes the work itself isn't sustainable.
Sometimes the environment is wrong.
Sometimes your capacity has changed.
Sometimes the role no longer fits the life you're trying to build.
And sometimes you don't know which one it is.
You deserve the space to figure that out before making a decision that affects your income, health, relationships, identity, and future.
That's what this process is designed to help you do.

Get Career Compatibility Compass - $997Questions & Answers
Does the Strong Interest Inventory® tell me what career I should choose?
What if I don't know whether I want a new career?
What if I already know I need to leave my job?
What happens after I enroll?
How long does the Strong assessment take?
How long are the video sessions?
What can I ask through asynchronous messaging?
How quickly will I get a response to messages?
What if I'm too overwhelmed to know where to start?
Is this therapy?
Can this tell me whether I qualify for medical leave or accommodations?
How much support do I receive?
How long do I have access?
You do not have to do this alone.Â
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to solve a complicated problem entirely inside your own head.
You can think about it in the shower.
On the commute.
While you're trying to fall asleep.
You can ask three people what they think and somehow feel more confused afterward.
You can spend hours researching careers and still not know which information actually matters.
That's why Career Compatibility Compass isn't designed as a self-study course with a login and a pile of worksheets.
There is a human being on the other side of this process.
Dr. Marlinda brings her professional background in psychology, career development, trauma recovery, nervous-system regulation, and emotional wellbeing to the process.
She's there to help you see the situation more clearly, ask better questions, interpret the information, and make a decision that you can stand behind.
You still make the decisions.
You just don't have to make them in isolation.
You do not have to choose your forever career today.
You do not have to choose between:
Staying stuck and forcing yourself to push through.
Quitting impulsively without a plan.
Taking another generic career quiz.
Spending months researching without moving.
Treating burnout as proof that you are incapable.
Choosing a role based only on money, fear, prestige, or other people's approval.
Instead, you can:
Understand what is draining you.
Learn what conditions support you.
Explore career directions without committing your whole future to one answer.
Take a grounded next step while uncertainty is still present.
Your career is not decided by one difficult week, one performance review, one rejected application, one job title, or one fearful thought.
You can spend another six months researching careers, taking quizzes, talking to friends, and second-guessing yourself—or you can work through a structured process with professional guidance and actually test what you discover.
Start by understanding what's actually happening.
Then take the next step from a position of clarity.
