Thought Labeling

The next time you find yourself caught in a spiral or thought loop, use thought labeling. Notice and label the thought and say "That is 'stress' mind telling me the story of stress again." Or you can say, "There goes my stress mind again on repeat." Labeling thoughts as something other than you can create distance from you and what the thoughts can do in your head, like cause stress responses and more anxiety.
